Maiser Khana Mandir
Maiser Khana Mandir, located approximately 29 km from Bathinda on the Bathinda–Mansa Road, is one of Punjab’s most revered pilgrimage sites. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, worshipped here in her manifestations as Maa Durga and Jwala Ji. The temple holds immense spiritual and cultural significance and is believed to be the result of deep devotion by a devotee named Kamala, who, being unable to travel to the distant shrine of Jwala Ji in Himachal Pradesh, meditated with intense devotion. Legend says that the Goddess was so pleased with his penance that she manifested herself at this spot.
The temple is surrounded by peaceful rural landscapes, offering a serene and spiritually charged environment. The main shrine enshrines beautifully adorned idols of Maa Durga and Maa Jwala Ji, and thousands of devotees visit the temple, especially during the bi-annual Navratra Melas held in March-April and September-October. These fairs draw huge crowds from across Punjab and neighboring states, turning the temple into a vibrant hub of devotional songs, rituals, langars, and spiritual gatherings.
Maiser Khana is not just a religious destination—it is a symbol of unwavering faith and the divine response to sincere devotion. The temple complex also includes facilities for pilgrims and remains a place of spiritual solace for those seeking the blessings of the Divine Mother.
