Baba Khetarpaal Mandir
Baba Khetarpaal Mandir, located in the Cantonment area on Railway Station Road, Gobind Nagri, Ferozepur Cantt, is a revered shrine dedicated to Baba Khetarpaal Ji, a folk deity widely worshipped in parts of northern India, especially in Punjab, Rajasthan, and Haryana. Known for his miraculous powers and protective presence, Baba Khetarpaal Ji is considered a guardian spirit who safeguards devotees from evil forces, diseases, and misfortunes.
The temple holds a deep spiritual connection with the local community and armed forces personnel, as it is situated within the military cantonment. The shrine exudes a peaceful yet powerful aura, drawing daily visitors who come to offer chadars, incense, sweets, and oil, especially on Thursdays, which are considered sacred for Baba Khetarpaal’s worship. Devotees also light earthen lamps and tie sacred threads as symbols of their prayers and wishes.
According to oral traditions, the temple has existed for many decades and is rooted in folk beliefs and divine experiences of the people, many of whom credit Baba Khetarpaal Ji with fulfilling wishes, curing illnesses, and protecting their homes. The temple is especially crowded during special melas (fairs) or Baba Ji’s Jayanti, when cultural and spiritual activities take place alongside devotional singing and community feasts.
Baba Khetarpaal Mandir serves not only as a religious sanctuary but also as a place where faith meets folklore, offering solace, strength, and spiritual assurance to countless devotees in Ferozepur and beyond.
